08 /03/2017: The Minister of Justice and Human Rights of Mali, Mamadou Ismaila Konate has paid a courtesy visit to the Ombudsman as part of his five day study tour in Rwanda. The Ombudsman Cyanzayire Aloysie explained the Minister the functionning of the Office of the Ombudsman especially its role in the promotion of good governance and rule of law.

The Mali Minister commended the Office of the Ombudsman in its fight against injustice and corruption and announced that he has learned a lot that he will take to Mali.

"Rwanda has a lot to offer to Africa, adding that the country’s achievements are proof that when people are committed they can achieve a lot.”said the Minister after visiting Isange One Stop Centre and the Kigali Forensic Laboratory.
He also added that Mali and Rwanda are focused on building quality relations and that his visit is meant to learn from what Rwanda has achieved in the justice sector.
His Rwandan counterpart Minister of Justice and the Attorney General Busingye Johnston said that during the visit, the both Ministers had fruitful discussions on different areas of cooperation.
