Office of the Ombudsman discussed with journalists on their role in the fight against corruption

07 December 2016, As part the anti corruption week enters its 5th day, the Office of the Ombudsman discussed with journalists as key partners in the fight against the graft.
The discussions attracted around 50 journalists from different media houses operating in Rwanda.


" We are ready to partner with any journalists willing to work with the Office of the Ombudsman in corruption battle" Says Musangabatware Clément who was the guest of honor in the function.

Adressing participants the Executive Secretary of Media House Mr Peacemaker Mbungiramihigo said " A high level of integrity and professionalism is needed in media to serve the interest of citizens.


Journalists expressed their concerns about lack of funds for investigative piece which can expose corrupt persons and they also said that the discussions with the Office of the Ombudsman should be organized on regular basis.

The anti corruption week will end on 9th December 2016 on international anti corruption day. " Get involved, report corruption" is the theme of this year.
