Kigali 15th April 2016, Dr. Otiende Amollo Kenya Ombudsman and also the Secretary General of the African Ombudsman and Mediators Association paid an Official visit at the Office of the Ombudsman from 15th to 16th April 2016 to learn from the best practices of the implementation of the access to information law in Rwanda.
Mrs Cyanzayire Aloysie and her Kenya Counterpart discussed Rwanda’s experience in the implementation of the access to information law as well as jurisdiction to review courts decisions.
During his visit, Dr Otiende Amollo also met with the representative of Rwanda Governance Board, Media High Council and Rwanda Media Commission as the partners of the Office of the Ombudsman in the implementation of the access to information law.

The Office of the Ombudsman of Rwanda has a mandate of monitoring the implementation of the access to information law.
The office of the Ombudsman of Kenya is set up under the Commission on Administrative Justice Act, 2011 pursuant to Article 59 (4) of the Constitution of Kenya. The Commission on Administrative Justice is mandated to address all forms of maladministration, promote good governance and efficient service delivery in the public sector by enforcing the right to fair administrative action. We investigate abuse of power, manifest injustice and unlawful, oppressive, unfair or unresponsive official conduct.
