On Monday 23 May 2016, Thirty-one senior police students from 10 countries including Rwanda the host attending the ‘Police Senior Command and Staff Course’ at the National Police College in Musanze District visited the Office of the Ombudsman as the start of their week long study tour which aims at making a comparative analysis based on the theories acquired in class.
Mbarubukeye Xavier, Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Ombudsman explained the strategies as far as preventing and fighting corruption and injustice are concerned. The Permanent Secretary told the Police Senior Command Students that the fight against corruption in Rwanda is possible because of the political will."
In his remarks Commissioner of Police (CP) Felix Namuhoranye, the commandant of National Police Command said “This is the highest police course we offer in Rwanda and it aims at providing knowledge and skills in relation to Strategic Command and professional policing, Executive Leadership as well as Strategic Management, they are not just police officers, they are strategic leaders.”
The officers are from Burundi, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Kenya, Namibia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Rwanda, the host. The week-long study tour will be in 15 countries among others National Itorero Commission, Rwanda Development Board . The study tour is part of the one year course that covers both academic and professional aspects
