31/08/2016, Kigali: Delegation from Lesotho Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime are in Rwanda for a 4 day study visit. The study aims at learning from Rwanda’s experience in the fight against corruption in public procurement, the online system of declaration of assets among others.

The 3 members of delegation lead by Mr Sematha Mohlalefi, Chief Prevention Officer is in Rwanda from 28th August 2016.Apart from the Office of the Ombudsman, the team visited Rwanda Public Procurement Authority and Rwanda National Prosecution Authority.

Reacting to the Rwanda’s success in the fight against corruption Mr Semantha said " Rwanda has proved us that the great weapon against corruption is the political will." He also added that anti corruption institutions should not think that they serve their institutions rather their fellow africans.
The delegation met with the Prosecutor General of Rwanda, Mr Muhumuza Richard and Deputy Prosecutor General Agnes Mukagashugi and discussed on the role of Rwanda Public Prosecution Authority in combating corruption in public procurement.
Members of delegation also visited Rwanda Public Procurement Authority and learnt the role of the institution and its role in the fight against corruption.
