9th July 2013, Rwanda keeps performing well in Africa according to the findings of the Global Corruption Barometer (GCB), a worldwide public opinion survey on corruption done by Transparency International which was officially published on 09th July 2013.
Basing on the percentages of respondents who reported having paid a bribe in the past year, Rwanda comes with a rate of 13% .87% of respondents indicated that government officials do not act in their own interests. They also rank Government actions very high, at 95% effectiveness, in the fight against corruption.

“ Being the least corrupt country in Africa is the results of the joint efforts of different institutions and the political will on the top” he added
The Government of Rwanda has undertaken a number of Anti-corruption measures and these coupled with immense political will and public support have led to a low impunity environment.
