The Office of the Ombudsman in solving injustice cases in Nyagatare District

Monday 05th May 2014, The Office of the Ombudsman launched the anti injustice week in Nyagatare District. From 05th to 9th May 2014 the staff of the Office of the Ombudsman will be in Nyagatare District in different cells to receive complaints and solve them with the help of the citizens and local leaders. This program also aims at sensitizing citizens about their rights.

Most of the complaints adressed to the Chief Ombudsman were land related . In her remarks, Mrs. Cyanzayire Aloysie, the Chief Ombudsman called upon Nyagatare citizens to always involve local leaders in the process of buying lands .

The anti injustice week is the easiest way to find solutions for complaints because they are analyzed at the grass root level with the help of local leaders and concerned citizens. The anti injustice week aims at facilitating complainants avoiding long journeys and spending money for transport to the Office of the Ombudsman

In the Anti injustice week, every District is given one week where staff of the Office of the Ombudsman receive complaints and sensitize population . This program was held in other Districts such as Gakenke, Karongi, Musanze, Rubavu, Rwamagana,, Ruhango
