Kigali, 30th November 2015: Since 2006, Rwanda joins the world in the celebration of the International Anti-Corruption day on 9th December through the Office of the Ombudsman which organizes an annual anti-corruption week which ends on the International Anti Corruption Day. This year’s anti corruption week started on 29th November with the theme “Fight Corruption for a sustainable development".
The week was launched by a talk show on 17 private radios with the theme “The role of citizens in preventing corruption in government programs". The aim of the show was to call upon beneficiaries of the government programs to not tolerate corruption practices and report any corruption loopholes in the implementation of the programs. "Everyone must feel concerned when it comes to report corrupt practices in the implementation of programs because they are the beneficiaries and it helps in investigations." said the Ombudsman in the show.
