The staff of the office of the ombudsman to participate in volunteerism policy

On 19 th April 2013, on the invitation of the Office of the Ombudsman, The delegation from Itorero ry’Igihugu Task force headed by Mr. Rucagu Boniface visited the Office of the Ombudsman to explain the policy of volunteerism.

Mr. Rucagu Boniface commended the Office of the Ombudsman for showing interest in the volunteerism policy. He said that the volunteerism policy was drawn in the culture of Rwanda and it is a way of contributing to the development of the country. He added that the public servants on their motivation will volunteer in their competent field to the institutions which will need volunteers and they will take at least two weeks from their annual leave. A database of the qualifications of volunteers and the institutions which needs them will be elaborated .

In her speech, the Chief Ombudsman Mrs. Cyanzayire Aloysie promised Itorero ry’Igihugu task force to join the volunteerism policy once it will reach the implementation phase and since there is a similarity of functions of Itorero ry’Iguhugu task and the Office of the Ombudsman. She said that they will discuss on how they can work together in the future.
