The Office of The Ombudsman has signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Rwanda Governance Board (RGB)

This Thursday 24 May 2018, at the RGB Offices, The Office of The Ombudsman and The Rwanda Governance Board have signed the Memorandum of Understanding that aims at strengthening the existing cooperation between two institutions.

Both Heads of Institutions signing the MoU
The MoU between the two public institutions serves at opening the doors wider in different areas of activity such as:
conducting joint public hearing and participation of citizens in finding solutions to complaints & issues affecting them;Assessment and review of institutional procedures in service delivery and the collaboration in following up National Anti-Corruption Advisory Council Resolutions’ implementation. The signed document will also look on the enforcement of recommendations related to accountability, justice and good governance promotion to public, private institutions and civil society as well as decentralized entities.

The information sharing on corruption channel and strategies to fight it which existed before will be strengthened as well as the collaboration in Research on Governance, Administrative justice and Corruption and so forth.

The Office of The Ombudsman is established under the Law nº 76/2013 of 11/09/2013 and one of Its mandate is to ensure good governance in public and private institutions whereas, The Rwanda Governance Board is established under the Law N°56/2016 of 16/12/2016 and is also mandated among others, to monitor, ensure good governance and quality service delivery in public and private institutions and civil society.
